Our Faces Behind the Breakroom: Jason Hodges

Feb 25, 2026

“Making Workdays Better, One Breakroom at a time” that’s Jason Hodges’ personal mission statement, and it’s one he lives out every day in his role as Director of New Business Development.

Jason’s day-to-day responsibilities span from identifying, researching, and pursuing new business opportunities to building and strengthening relationships with prospective and existing clients, vendors, and partners.

Jason will be the first to admit that when it comes time to take photos, pictures aren’t exactly his thing, but that doesn’t slow him down. When asked how he starts his workday,

Jason shared:

“Review my calendar, check on active accounts, and work with the local branch so nothing falls through the cracks.”

That hands-on approach naturally led us to our next question: what objections or concerns does he hear most often from prospects, and how does he address them?

Jason explained:

“Most concerns are around cost and service. I start with listening first, understanding their pain points, and showing them how we can make things easier, cleaner, more efficient and improve their program all around.”

At Five Star, we understand that bringing in something new can feel like a risk. That’s why we offer a free consultation followed by a rendering allowing clients to see their ideas brought to life and move forward with confidence, knowing every detail has been considered.

Those thoughtful decisions are also what Jason defines as a win in his role:

“A win is when a client still feels great about their decision six months later and happy employees.”

Our goal at Five Star from our sales team to our C-suite is to make breaktime solutions as seamless as possible. From creating restocking schedules to tailoring snack selections around employee preferences, every step of the process is designed with the client in mind.

Putting clients first comes second nature to our sales team. When asked who influenced his sales style the most, Jason pointed to another member of our team:

“Carolyn Burton, She taught me the value of being diligent in working your territory, cold calling, relationship building and consistency.”

In the front row, Jason is second from the left, right beside Carolyn Burton.

To wrap up, we asked Jason about his goals for the new year. He shared:

“I’m excited about growing our footprint, with great breakroom experiences. My goal is to continue to deepen relationships and being the go-to breakroom provider.”
