Five Star Breaktime Acquires Jordan Distributing

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of a Chattanooga-based vending and micro market company Jordan Distributing. This acquisition strengthens Five Star’s presence in the Chattanooga region and supports continued growth across Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.

The business was originally established by industry veteran Hugh Jordan, who began his career in the vending industry in 1972. In 1992, Hugh purchased Tom’s Distributorship in Knoxville and later expanded operations into the Chattanooga market. The distributorship Hugh acquired traces its roots back to 1937 and is believed to have been among the first companies to introduce glass-front snack machines into workplaces in 1956. This innovation helped shape the modern vending industry.

In recent years, the Chattanooga operation has been managed by Hugh’s son, Bart Jordan, and has focused on providing vending and micro market services throughout Chattanooga and surrounding areas, including Cleveland, Tennessee, and Dalton, Georgia. This two-route operation is serving a dedicated customer base throughout the region. The transaction does not include employees, facilities, or ownership transitioning as part of the deal. This acquisition allows Hugh Jordan to fully retire and enjoy time with his wife, Alice, after more than five decades in the vending industry. Five Star will integrate the acquired routes into its existing Chattanooga operations to ensure uninterrupted service and a seamless transition for customers.
