Five Star Acquires Heart of Georgia Vending

Richard Rustin’s story in the vending industry began in the early 1980s when he joined the team at Coca-Cola.  As corporate shifts impacted his role, Richard saw an opportunity to forge a new path specifically one that would eventually make a lasting impact in Middle Georgia's vending landscape.

In December 1996, Richard and his wife Wendy launched Heart of Georgia Vending. What started as a bold idea soon grew into a trusted, local vending service provider in Macon, GA, known for reliability and personalized customer care. Richard has expanded the business from the ground up and eventually led to operating and servicing over 150 vending machines across the region.

Operating a vending business isn’t just about machines but it’s about dedication, long hours, and consistently putting customers first. After decades of service, Richard made the heartfelt decision to step back from the business to focus on spending more quality time with Wendy and their beloved grandchildren.
